The key challenge was to bring human resources management into the new level.
The goal of the project was to take each interaction with applicants to a new quality level within a clear, responsive interface.
The application was required to be the most effortless and user-friendly for inquirers; that is why we worked out a set of essential features and incorporated them into an intuitive branded framing.
Our Solution
Together with our client The App Solutions team came to a decision of developing apps for both iOS and Android platforms.
This way company offered a seamless cutting-edge recruitment tool to applicants as well as ensured job offers reach the best candidates.
We presented a mobile recruitment app, which provides easy access to essential corporate info including company’s background, news and events, vacancies and most importantly, allows applying to job openings and get feedback from a recruitment team in real time.
Using technology stack
Android app, written in Kotlin within Android SDK, supports all platform versions starting from the 4th. To quarantee smooth request transmission and uninterrupted operation on deversified range of devices, RetroFit and Support libraries were used.
iOS version of the app was implemented with a range of libraries and APIs:
Reactivecocoa – for overall app speed-up;
Mantle – for in-app parsing;
AFNetworking – for withdrawing data from the web;
Quartz Core – for displaying PDF docs within the app;
OverCode – for sending requests onto servers.
Creating a network
Social precence became an inevitable and expected part for every company, so we boosted the app with social media integration by using Facebook and Twitter SDK’s. It serves both a good word-of-a-mouth advertising weapon for the company and communication engine, which makes users feel closer to people behind the big name.
Additionally, UIkit allowed to integrate clear job forms for users to fill out in a matter of taps.
And finally, MapsKit helped integrate Google Maps into the app to pin company’s offices locations.
Summary
A team for Ernst & Young project consisted of: a Project Manager, a technical writer, 2 developers (one for iOS and another for Android platform), 1 PHP developer, 1 designer, 1 quality assuarance expert.
As a result, a high end B2C recruitment app was released in 2 months after development started.
We managed to implement a helpful environment for job applicants of the company and closed a major demand of this folk of professionals – effortless and productive conversation on employment-related topics.
